Typical HR screen that was pleasant enough. I was asked to approve paper work that included a credit check prior to being handed over to the hiring manager. The HR rep emailed me a few days later asking if I could explain some missed payments that occurred 3-4 years prior and how I've fixed the issue. They would need direct approval of my situation due to this. I explained there was a miscommunication with my spouse and myself but it was taken care of a while back. I explained I had 28 months without an issue and a credit score that hovered between 750-800. I guess none of that was good enough because I got the thanks but no thanks letter from an automated system. A personal touch would have been appropriate considering something 3-4 years ago forced me to "explain myself". The form email even had lacked wording that I would be welcomed back at a future time for another opportunity. They really made me feel like a criminal, or a future one since these are predictive precautions if I ever feel on hard times. It really was that simple of a situation. Incredibly unprofessional and degrading.
