I appeared for this position through campus placements at VIT, Chennai on 5th September, 2014. The initial round was an IQ test conducted by Aspiring Minds - AMCAT. The test consists of 25 questions on verbal ability, 16 questions on quantitative aptitude and 14 questions on logical reasoning with one minute per question. It was fairly simple covering topics such as divisibility tests, direction sense, data sufficiency, data inference, syllogisms, probability, data arrangements, trains, comprehension and so on. After being shortlisted I was asked to submit my resume along with passport size photographs that were attached to my application form and AMCAT score card. I was first called for the technical interview which covered a wide variety of topics ranging from C, C++, Java, Databases, SQL, PL/SQL, Data Warehousing, .NET, Big Data and SMAC in general. In addition, I was asked to describe a few examples from my project work, list my technical certifications and also some general questions about why I was choosing to apply for CTS, where I see myself 5 years down the line, whether I would be comfortable with any work location etc. Be thorough with your concepts. I was asked scenario based questions with examples, to predict output, to explain the logic for some code to reverse a number, rate myself on my programming skills in C, explain the results of some SQL queries and justify etc. Make sure you know about what you've added to resume and be prepared to answer any questions related to anything you have mentioned. I was shortlisted for the HR round within 10 minutes and asked to talk about myself, my family and my hometown. I was also asked about things in my resume and sign a declaration that work location is dependent on business demand/project requirements so requests for transfers etc will hinge on the aforementioned business need. I liked the experience overall, it was quite satisfactory.
