      Technical Sourcer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CoreWeave

      Interview

Yet another company that requires you to complete a take-home assignment as part of the interview process but won't give you any feedback when they reject you. It's not cool to ask candidates to take time to produce free work and then to disposition them via a non-personalized, super vague email, especially in this already difficult job market. The take-home assignment required me to analyze a closed role (tech role that they already hired for), detail what steps I would take with the hiring manager to build a good working relationship, describe the sourcing tools and strategies I would use, find a few candidates that I would present to the hiring manager with a link to their LinkedIn profiles, and write a sample outreach message to a candidate. They claimed that all of this would only take 30 minutes, but that wasn't a realistic time estimate when it was said and done (took me about 1.5 hours). After submitting the assignment, I interviewed with the would-be boss for the sourcer role, but the interview didn't go that deep into the work I submitted, so I wasn't sure what the purpose of the assignment was. All in all, the company is asking you to work (for free) and provide intellectual property. It's disappointing that this is the way many companies are operating in this market.
