The interview process was only 30 minutes, with Hiring Manager and another Account Manager. Most of the interview was a 1-way interrogation to see test my knowledge. There was not enough time for me to ask questions, however, I reached out to connections to ask more questions about the company and the position. At the end of the interview, they told me they would get back to me in a week, and they did. They verbally gave me an offer and told me I should expect the written offer in a few days. The manager was excited to get me on board and asked me how soon I can come to UAE. I live in the USA, and the job is in UAE. He even asked if I can come to UAE with a regular tourist visa. I had to shut that down immediately as I still have to move and settle my family and house, cars, belongings, everything. I asked about the compensation package, and he gave me a ballpark for around $100k a year, including housing and schooling and the hiring manager instructed me to put in my 2 weeks notice before even getting the offer let alone accepting the offer. I finally get the offer, it was about $70k a year with a housing stipend of $25,k, and $5k Car allowance. I was baffled, as I thought the base salary would be $100k, and the company would pay for housing as previous expatriate roles. The salary was much lower than expected, and the offer was poorly written, they could not give me details on the bonus structure., and there is no commision-based pay. They also informed me that there is no relocation assistance, and essentially I would have to come with my family with whatever I can fit in my suitcase, and furnish my own place in UAE. I tried to negotiate everything from salary, and relocation benefits and they were not willing to budge. I asked them to offer a 1-time sign-on /relocation bonus, and then they rescinded the offer. I am dumbfounded how from a verbal offer, and telling me to resign from my current job, and come to UAE without a visa, and then ghost me and ignore my calls and email when I negotiated to then pulling the offer completely. Overall frustrating and unprofessional experience.
