First screening call was conducted by a person in the same role that I was applying for, Associate Recruiter. The phone screen went well and I was scheduled for an in-person interview with the same Associate Recruiter plus the Executive Recruiter. After the in-person interview I had a 30 minute call with President/Founding Partner. I was told we would have another in-person interview with himself and the Executive and Associate Recruiters from the first interview. I was instructed to coordinate with the Associate Recruiter on a day and time. I emailed the Associate Recruiter immediately but never received a response.
After two months I emailed the Associate Recruiter asking for feedback as to what had changed. A few minutes later the President/Founding Partner emailed me to say the Associate Recruiter was no longer with the company and told me why they were no longer employed with the company. I was offered a time to meet face to face with the President/Founding Partner and the Executive Recruiter.
At the start of the meeting the Founder asked if I had any questions. I asked, "Why did you not follow up with me two months ago?" The President/Founding Partner and the Executive Recruiter both blamed the previous employee for having not told them about scheduling another meeting, to which I said, "But I did speak with both of you, did you get busy and forget?" The Founder closed his binder and said, "I don't think this is going to be a good fit. That is a weird way to start this."
I said, "okay" and left the office.
