      Business Development Manager Interview

      Mar 20, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Clapham, London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Criticaleye (Clapham, London, England)

      Interview

A 4 stage process, firstly a telephone based interview to go through your understanding of the role, the company, and to to discuss your experience. Second Stage was a face to face with the hiring manager to discuss the role in more detail and your experience. Third stage had a pre-task to profile 2 plc's and identify 3-6 people within the organisation to target with the companies services. During the third stage they expect a full bio of each company, and individual though being asked to present it all in 25-30 mins is a little unachievable. They ask all about the research, the people, and the company. In my case at this point I was told I would never process to the next stage due to having had too many jobs throughout my career. They wasted my time to get the research done for them with no intention of ever offering me a role. From speaking to recruiters, they have come across a number of candidates that this has happened to so beware!! All the candidates I was told about got to the penultimate stage and then were treated badly by the interviewers as I was and reinforces the suspicion they use candidates for leads! Should have guessed something was up when they ask no questions about me in the third interview and took lots of notes relating to the research. Now this is all based on my experience but you have to wonder why a small company like them are constantly recruiting for a number of roles.....

      Question 1

None really other than the deep questioning into the companies they ask you to research for them.
