      Interview

So this recruiter, reaches out all excited about their CTO position. Gives me this assessment requiring multiple video presentations. I tell her upfront I'm traveling for client meetings but will dedicate my entire weekend to it - the perfect chance to tell me if they'd already made other plans, right? Nope. Instead, she says great, looking forward to it! So I cancel my weekend plans and spend TWO FULL DAYS creating detailed technical presentations, infrastructure analysis, the works. Monday comes, she says she'll have feedback by Wednesday. Wednesday rolls around and I get this perfectly generic rejection: 'your submission lacked comprehensiveness for what we're looking for in a CTO.' Here's the real kicker - I can see the Loom view stats. NO ONE even watched the presentations. Not a single view. So they knew they weren't moving forward, let me waste my entire weekend anyway, then lied about reviewing it instead of just being honest. The crypto world talks big about transparency and trust, but actions speak louder than words. Pro tip: If a crypto Banter recruiter reaches out, save yourself two days of your life and pass. They don't respect people's time and they'll lie straight to your face with a smile.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review after our team reverted to you on both LinkedIn and email. Our team can guarantee your application was reviewed to levels our teams felt needed; as we do for all candidates in processes here at Banter. The team watched the screening call you had with said "recruiter" after you met her. We do not typically divulge data externally, but, we did share our recruitment data with you. The team highlighted a concern in your profile after the screening call based on your non exposure as a previous/experienced CTO, and lack of experience into the depths of Crypto related projects you have been exposed to; but the team wanted to give you the opportunity to showcase your technical expertise with an assessment. We thought it was only fair, we love to give people the chance to shine! 🖖 Before reviewing your strategy you shared on a Loom, our technical team reviewed your code and unfortunately it did not pass our criteria. We were hoping this part of the assessment would be where you shone, but we felt we have stronger candidates who align more with what our team needs at this time. The team felt the code they needed to see be more comprehensive at a CTO level role in our business. We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for and we do thank you for your time, consideration and energy. We try our best to engage candidates well throughout our process - this has always been the feedback we strive for! We hope you take this feedback as constructive, honest and with kindness from our end. Again, thank you for engaging Banter! We wish you only the best in your future endeavours. Who knows - maybe our paths will cross one day again, soon! 🤞
