The interview process was pretty simple and quick. I felt the recruiter did a great job managing the process.
My first interview was with the People person. I was told our focus was going to be on how I built teams. However the questions were not around that. Which was fine. The were around values, what type of documents I have created, and if I could build reports. We did have one question as to how I change my communications styles (ie code switching).
Before the interview was up I knew I wasn’t going to move forward. When Kelsey did not like a response it showed on her face. Not in a rude way, she was just easy to read. She did let me know in the interview that they wanted a more senior candidate. Which was a shock since I do have senior experience and the pay, nor the job description, reflected that. This job would have been a $40k cut if I decided to move forward.
One thing I thought odd was she started to tell me how important data analytics and certain metrics were to the role, when I asked her what metrics they were tracking she didn’t know.
