It starts with a lengthy assignment that would take about 10-12 hours on a good day, even for experienced devs. Once submitted, they will respond with a call for the second round. Then comes the next round after the assignment review for which the person was 30 mins late, talk about professionalism. The assignment code was gauged by some inexperienced product knob who didn't even look like has ever written a line of code and was just worried if the UI visuals were similar to given mock-ups. Imagine a non-tech person trying to review code and asking some vague questions from the user perspective and not understanding the developer solutions. He wasn't even able to frame a question that he wanted to ask and wanted me to keep guessing, it was a total joke. I thought it would be some core JS, browser,web dev, React, performance-related questions but it was none of those. ZERO. He just asked some vague questions about my experience, gave me a nested object coding problem, and just went away in the background. No interaction, no back and forth conversation when I was explaining my approach. Just kept reminding me that my 15 mins were almost done. It was almost as if he was forced to take the interview. A totally disconnected interview experience. From the get go it felt like he was just focussing on what he wanted the developer to do in his product rather than hiring a competent person and letting them build it . It was one of the worst make-shift interviews I have ever given. Didn't get the feedback but it was a total waste of my time and felt like a process put together by a bunch of misfits. Spoke to some other candidates and they had similar experiences.
