For the first interview we always have a short phone call to establish if there is a fundamental fit. In this case for a supply chain manager role, in particular with a candidate who doesn’t have any industry experience, it was important to understand the details of your previous experiences. This was not intended to come across as an interrogation but rather really trying to understand what you had worked with before. Also, for a maternity leave cover we always want to make sure that the person really is looking for a time limited engagement.
