It wasn't a formal interview. I met Emily for coffee and discussed mission statements, pros and cons of our business, and our preferred methods of teaching. I had already developed a reputation in the city for my teaching ability and client base.They knew me by reputation, we just hadn't met yet. I believe with new instructors they use a basic employment application, then a one on one interview. They have a training program for new teachers so they are basically looking for people skills, good character traits and work ethics.
