I applied through other source. I interviewed at DelMonte Hotel Group (Penfield, NY)
Interview
It started with a brief phone call interview then scheduled for an interview in person. I arrived early and waited in a conference room. Only one person interviewed me and she didn't seem too interested to start with. I brought a digital portfolio and a hard copy portfolio, each had different kinds of work. Web design, graphic design and photography. On top of that I asked her if I could hand her my recommendation letter and she said she didn't need it which I found to be kind of rude. At this point I knew this was a waste of my time and they were really not serious about hiring some one.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DelMonte Hotel Group (Penfield, NY) in Jan 2017
Interview
The interview was at their auxiliary building not the hotel site. Was easy to find. They had construction in the lobby.
I was interviewing for their graphic designer position. I got there 5 mins early. They made me wait 30 mins while they were interviewing someone else. Which I thought was very rude. When I was done with the interview there was another person waiting to go in and be interviewed. They have been interviewing for the position for 2 months they told me. There were 2 interviewers. They were kind of prissy and fake. They didn't actually seem very interested in what I had to say as they have probably heard a ton of similar people. They are looking for a highly talented and experienced designer that they are just not going to get for $13 an hour. Waste of time.
