A coding task, and they give you info to do your own research beforehand. They allow you to use AI to solve the issue too. And there are issues hiding in the existing code.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DesignCrowd (Sydney)
Interview
Two rounds. First one was a general chat about the role and my background. Then there was a take home assignment that was supposed to be followed by a technical interview. They intentionally underestimated how long it takes to complete the assignment to see what I do. Also they expected a production level quality on the coding exercise. I got rejected right after that so they never even gave me a chance to talk through my solution. The feedback was the standard - used 3rd party library instead of coding a solution from scratch etc.

The technical test was to complete the code for some calendar app.
