      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Aug 8, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Docusign (New York, NY)

      Interview

My recent interview experience was turned completely negative due to the in-house recruiter I spoke with. First off, he showed up almost 10 minutes late to our scheduled time and didn't bother to acknowledge that. Next, he seemed distracted or preoccupied during the call. I could hear he was just giving me an "uhuh" and "mhm" every few moments. There would then be a long pause after I finished my response until he seemed like he had snapped out of a trance. He wouldn't even follow up to anything I said. At the end of the call, he told me he wanted me to move on to the next round of the interview process and that he would reach out to me within a day or two in order to schedule the next steps with the hiring manager. He told me if I didn't hear back from him in 2 days, to email him back. Several days went by and I did not hear any response, so I emailed him back. I waited a few more days and still no response, so I emailed him again to make sure I was still on his radar. After that second note, he finally responded and told me they have decided to no longer pursue my candidacy, without any other information. I asked for further details, as I seemed very much aligned to the experience and skill set they were looking for. He told me it's because I don't have experience managing a specific customer type. That would be a reasonable explanation, except that I spent a major part of our phone screen speaking about how I have years of experience managing the EXACT customer type they were looking for. (Not to mention he already told me they want me to move on in the process and meet the hiring manager...?) Clearly, this recruiter had misrepresented me completely to the hiring team. I emailed him back asking if there was any sort of miscommunication or if he may have gotten me mixed up with a different candidate, as literally the first bullet point on my resume is how I have experience with the specific type of client they were looking for and I know we discussed it thoroughly during the phone screen. I received no response. I followed up several days later and still, no response. I am super bummed as I love DocuSign as a company and this role had me all sorts of excited. To think that I missed my opportunity to be a part of this amazing organization due to a careless recruiter really hurts. I'll still hold out hope that another role at DocuSign will arise and I will have a chance to be accurately represented. For now, I will remain disappointed that such an amazing opportunity was taken away from me by a careless recruiter. Reading some of the other reviews, it seems that other individuals who interviewed for the role had a similar experience. So if anybody from DocuSign reads this, I hope they take a look at who they are using to recruit for this role and perhaps review some of the amazing candidates who slipped through the crack.

Virtual and very good experience overall though they were vague about how many interviews their were a every time I thought I was done they’d schedule two more. Everyone was nice though and it was very conversational.

      Interview

Seamless and enjoyable interview process. Both the lead recruiter and recruiting coordinator were incredibly accessible and transparent about the process and keeping me updated. Entire process took about 2 weeks with 4 calls and one presentation. Everyone I met with was energetic and took the time to understand my background and answer all questions DocuSign! This by far was the most efficient interview process I’ve been a part of.
