      Security Analyst Interview

      Mar 15, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Henderson, NV
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DruvStar (Henderson, NV) in Jun 2021

      Interview

I applied to the position as was contacted within 24 hours for an interview. The interview consisted of an interview with the manager & director, then a secondary panel interview with anyone who was on shift at the time(I later was asked to participate in interviews in this way once I was hired), and finally an interview with the owner. First interview was with the manager/director. They asked me bizarre questions such as if I would rather be in the world from Resident Evil or Water World, which house am I in at hogwarts, A few technical questions thrown in. Very awkward. Second interview was a panel interview where everyone on shift at that time participated, and each person asked me one technical question and one bizarre question; such as "Germany, Brittan, and Italy. Who makes the best sportscars?"(I didnt know any cars from any of those places). "What is better cake or pie?", "Who is the best captain from Startrek?" (I have never seen it and said that). "Are you more LA or New York?"(no other explanation or context offered). "Who is your favorite super hero?" etc. Honestly it was more bizarre questions then actual work related questions and I feel like almost all of them I didn't answer or was like "I've never seen that show so I'm not sure". Somehow I passed to the third interview. Third interview is with the owner. They scheduled me for a Friday. Early Friday morning they called and said they were running behind and could they push me back an hour, no problem. Interview time came and I sat in the zoom meeting for close to 45 minutes waiting for them past the start time. They did not show up. At an hour past our start time(which was already pushed back an hour) they called me to say the owner wasn't available and they were sorry, could they schedule me for another time, or they could even do Saturday. Interviewed with the owner on Saturday. This was the only normal interview of the entire time, consisting of normal technical questions. Passed that and was contacted and offered the job from who would be my manager. Offered 55k for an analyst that they explained would be above and beyond a normal analyst because they would be having me extensively cross training into other roles such as engineering. I tried to negotiate and they said "no, we think this offer is fair". The entire time I thought the conversation was very awkward and just tense, and at the time I thought it was because the manager knew he was low balling and was embarrassed. I took the job anyway and later found out it was just how every interaction would be like with him forever. I regret not reading the red flags in the interview processes, there were many and I should not have continued the interview process.
