      Director Elearning Academy Interview

      Jul 18, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Bergen op Zoom
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Dura-Line Corp (Bergen op Zoom) in Feb 2021

      Interview

Extremely lengthy. 4 months 1. Agent calls me to see if skills match and pursues me. 30 min 2. HR for company interview. 1 hour 3. Interview with hiring manager and consultant. 1 hour: Positive call & feedback. Agent writes and says they were very impressed. 4. References requested for 3 individuals. 5. References all responded. 6. Interview was supposed to be with VP, sales and Marketing. Only marketing showed up. 1 hour. Very inconsiderate. 7. Interview with two long-standing sales individuals. 1.5 hours 8. Interview with VP of sales. 2 hours which concluded with him saying he was in favor of me for the position. All responses to interviews were very positive. As a woman in a male-dominated industry - I kept wondering if they were stalling for another candidate, looking for answers to their learning needs (drilling for answers), or trying to find a reason to not hire me. It was a very tedious process which cost me 6’+ hours of interviews and countless hours researching the company, updating my resume, writing to the agent, writing to HR, thank you notes, etc. They did not ask me very technical questions. Although I’m not sure they knew what questions to ask. Emailed a week after my last interview that I would not be offered a position that they liked me and would keep my resume on file. In the meantime, 2 female employees seemed to have left the company (or released of duty). If you are a woman - as much as you may want to break the glass ceiling - don’t try with this company. Interviews were positive with very positive responses, salary had been Pre-negotiated and approved. With 20 years experience, 4 degrees, a PMP certification, evidence of current trend work, a reference from a leader in the field, and a specialized degree in their requested field - There wasn’t much more the company could ask for. I wasn’t told I was over-qualified. Very disappointing. Ladies - don’t bother.
