      Coordinator Interview

      Jun 25, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at EMPIST in May 2025

      Interview

I applied online, the recruiter got back to me pretty quickly and set up a phone screen. Pretty standard phone screen. They took a very long time to get an update from them. Almost a month, which shows a lack of respect for my time.

      Coordinator Interview

      Jan 2, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at EMPIST (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2016

      Interview

First a call from a recruiter on a national holiday so I didn't answer. After that, normal phone interview process. Recruiter seemed disinterested in learning my background and went straight to questions that could have been answered by looking at my resume. Said that my salary expectations were too high for the role but would continue the process. Follow up call, again, on a national holiday, so they followed up via email. While coordinating an interview time, they asked if two times could work, I replied no, since I already provided my availability in the initial phone interview. "We are trying to wrap up interviews this week so if you cannot make it in this week, we will not be able to move forward." Quite blunt of a response. So I chose not to go forward with the process.

As recruiters, we have seen that many employed candidates prefer to talk on weekends or their day off work to not conflict with their current job. We leave messages and emails and the candidate can coordinate or schedule a time to speak when they are available. As far as scheduling goes, there is a lot more that goes in to it than meets the eye. We have to coordinate with multiple managers that are extremely busy and also other candidates that we have spoken to and scheduled first. Sometimes there are not a ton of options for interview times especially when we already have multiple candidates booked and the first round of interviews is near the end. Ultimately, we try to be as accommodating as we can with candidates and work around their schedules as much as we can.
