I applied in the early summer and heard back in August for an initial screening. About two weeks I met the hiring manager for an informal chat, a cultural match validation. I thought it went well as I was made a final candidate. Two weeks later I had a formal panel interview with the founders. I was told I'd have an answer within in two weeks. After about 3 weeks I emailed to ask if there were any updates and received nothing back. I then asked again for clarity on the process as I had another offer come in and I needed to make some life choices. In the email I stated that ESO was my preferred choice. The next day I got a generic rejection email with no feedback. This was a massive bummer after having been finalized and meeting the directing team. "We're a for-profit business with a non-profit heart" said the hiring manager. I would argue otherwise.
