I was approached directly on LinkedIn by a recruiter — there was no public job posting or job description shared at any point during the process.
The process involved two rounds on my end: an initial video call with the Design Manager, followed by an in-person interview in Hamburg with the Head of Design and a Chapter Lead. I later found out there were at least two more rounds planned after that — with tech and PMs — which were never communicated upfront. When I asked about the full process, I was only told I'd be informed about the next step.
The live case study format itself was the most interesting part. Two collaborative sessions moderated by the Head of Design — a design critique and a product sense exercise. The Head of Design was upfront that they avoid whiteboard challenges because no one enjoys designing in front of others, and that they want to see how candidates collaborate. That part I respected.
The main issues:
- No job description at any point, making it impossible to understand the role scope or evaluation criteria
- The salary range was never shared. I asked the recruiter twice directly and was refused both times — which is unusual and made it impossible to assess fit before investing time in the process
- The full interview process was never disclosed — I only learned about additional rounds after being rejected
- After travelling to Hamburg specifically for the interview, the rejection was a generic template with no specific feedback
- The process felt exploratory rather than tied to a concrete open role — the Head of Design mentioned they source candidates directly on LinkedIn rather than posting publicly
Tips for candidates:
- Ask for the full process structure and salary range upfront. If you don't get answers, factor that into how much time you invest.
- For the first interview with the Design Manager, a slide deck is not required but I'd strongly recommend preparing one anyway. It significantly helps with storytelling and presenting your work in the best possible way.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at EVENTIM (London, England) in Jul 2021
Interview
You need to apply with your Curriculum Vitae on the AEG Europe website - they ask no questions, it is just a CV application - and then you have one interview with a FOH Manager
I applied in-person. I interviewed at EVENTIM in May 2025
Interview
I was approached by a recruiter from CTS EVENTIM on LinkedIn in May '25. The person advertised an open marketing position at their startup, EDGE. I agreed to a job interview, which took the form of a phone call in German.
I'm Russian, a mid-level specialist with over six years of experience in Germany — and to say I was pissed off by the interview would be an understatement. The German HR employee interrogated me with a series of ridiculous, overly scrutinizing questions, treating me as if I had applied proactively, rather than the other way around.
The HR came across as robotic, reading questions off a script and responding to mine like an auto-responder. When I asked questions, I sensed passive aggression. The recruiter also refused to share any information about the salary.
Despite this being the first interview, the recruiter expected me to go into great detail about my experience, without offering any insight into potential incentives or benefits. Outrageous. The cherry on top? A change in office policy — 4 mandatory days per week in the office. Whether it's the unprofessionalism of the HR specialist or the mediocre organizational culture at EVENTIM, one thing is clear: I absolutely do not want to work there.
To top it all off, I realized after the call that the HR hadn’t even mentioned the exact job title.

Question 1
How many clients do I manage at the same time in an agency? (Added that it'll about 20 at the same time).
What is my experience with the given industry of EVENTIM? Again, a typical thing - I've got an impression I'm expected to work in one/max. two industries in Germany my whole life. How traditional is that?
