I was contacted via LinkedIn on December 3 by Adam Rollings, a recruiter at Ex.Co. We had a preliminary meeting on December 4, during which he stated he would share his notes with the team and asked me to send over my resume. Which I did.
After that, there was no communication until December 11, when I followed up myself. At that point, Adam finally responded and said there had been a “slight delay due to the volume of hiring” and that he would follow up the following Monday.
At this point, I chose to disengage and block future communication. I do not appreciate my time being wasted. Transparency is simple and it matters, recruiters should be clear about whether a candidate is actively being moved forward versus being kept warm “just in case.” Using candidates as placeholders is extremely unprofessional.
Good luck future candidates!
