      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Nov 23, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Chandler, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Emailage (Chandler, AZ) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Definitely out of the ordinary. I had an initial interview with the CRO that went well, then I had a second interview for a different position the company was thinking about doing, then I had a final interview for the customer success manager position where I met with the CRO, CPO, and CEO. The CPO gave the first part of the interview and asked me to sell him the product in Spanish (my secondary language) He then apologized for making me take so many interviews but that they were looking for the right position for me. CPO is probably one of the most personable people I have met. I then had a quick wait for the CEO. During the wait the CPO had random employees ask me questions about myself and he also had me ask questions to current employees. So I got interviewed (1 question) by the CTO, CFO, Senior programmer, and a few others. Finally when the CEO was ready, I had a short interview (very busy, get down to business, kind of guy, but kind) where he asked me a few basic questions like why I wanted this job and if I had questions for him. Then the CRO sat down with me again (more serious sales guy, but a mentor for sure) and gave me the job offer.

      Question 1

Can you tell me why you think you will be a good Customer Success Manager? Can you sell me the product in Spanish? What value can you add to our company?

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Dec 19, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Emailage (London, England) in Dec 2019

      Interview

I applied online in the summer. I had a lengthy phone interview with the Director of Success followed by a face-to-face interview at their offices. The interview was a mixture of questions about my CV and scenario-based questions. The interview went well although I was sent a generic email saying I had been unsuccessful. I had to call the hiring manager directly for feedback which made her uncomfortable in my opinion. I was then emailed by the hiring manager 2 months later saying the person they had hired hadn't passed the probation period and as I was a close second, was I still interested. I then had a further interview with some members of the team which was very intense. I was told I had done very well and to essentially expect an offer the following day. I was then ghosted by the hiring manager again until I made contact and was told I was unsuccessful because I didn't speak french - it was never mentioned that it was a requirement nor was I asked at any point. They're a good company with a very good product however some aspects seem very unprofessional and disorganised.
