      Management Trainee Interview

      Aug 24, 2011
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Enterprise Mobility in Aug 2011

      Interview

I applied online and within a few days received an email from the Talent Aquision Agent (Human Resources). She gave her phone number and asked me to call her to discuss open positions and my relocation time frame (I was moving there from out of state). I spoke with her on the phone 3 days later about the job. She was very upbeat and nice and explained how the interview process worked. She said she'd email more information about the job and after I looked it over to let her know if I wanted to set up a phone interview. She emailed the job description, benefits package, and detailed information about compensation. I emailed her the next day to let her know that I would like to set up a phone interview. After a week of not hearing from her I emailed again. She emailed and called back the same day apologizing that she must've missed my message somehow. We set up the phone interview for 8 days later. The phone interview lasted about 30 minutes and went great. She was very nice and asked behavioral, situational questions focused on sales just like the ones described on this website. At the end of the conversation she invited me to the branch for a 1:1 interview. Since I would be flying in from out of state for the interview she told me just to let her know when I could make it out and they would work with me to schedule an interview. I was very impressed with how lenient they were with scheduling. Apparently they hire from out of state all the time and do this a lot. I flew out a week and a half later. My first 1:1 interview consisted of an hour long branch observation in which you walk around watching everyone work and ask questions from a paper they give you and any additional questions you might have. Everyone was really nice. Immediately following the observation I had about a 45 minute interview with the Area Rental Manager. It consisted of the same questions as the phone interview but just a little more detailed. Lots of questions about sales experience. Later that evening they called and invited me for my last interview the next day. My second 1:1 interview was with the Regional Vice President. He was a very nice laid back guy. We had a good hour long conversation and I thought the interview went well. Again, the same questions were asked but this one was more just to see if I'd be a good fit. Example, what qualities do you think make a good leader? He said I'd know something by the end of the week. I received a very generic email a few days later saying that they've decided to pursue other candidates. I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting that. I don't know what they're looking for but it apparently wasn't me. I have extensive sales and customer service experience and I thought all of my answers were good. My impression of the overall experience is that they are looking for very serious, business minded, competitive, self driven people for this position. I was told more than once over the interview process that they are not hiring manager trainees, they are hiring potential managers. The pay your first year is not good considering the long hours and hard work the job requires. I am moving there to enjoy it, not work constantly, so honestly I'm a little relieved that I didn't get it. They are looking for long term, hard working employees, so if you just need a job and your dream isn't being an Enterprise manager I wouldn't waste your time. I am waiting for a reply from the Talent Aquisition Agent to go over that last interview and see why they didn't think I'm a good fit. I'm anxious to see what they say.

      Question 1

On a scale from 1-10 how would you rate the customer service of the employees you watched during your branch observation? I said a 9 and he then asked how it could've been improved.

      Interview

Smooth and took about 2 weeks to complete. They're really interested in your ability to work in a fast paced environment and your ability to deal with an irate customer. It's a sales job after-all.

      Question 1

Tell me about a time you had to overcome adversity. What do you think is the most important part of sales? Why Enterprise?

The interview was lasting 3 minutes and was abruptly ended by the interviewer. I was not happy about this. I was not asked any questions from my side. Please do not apply to this job.
