The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Enterprise Mobility in Sep 2018
Interview
Started out with a phone interview that she was 10 minutes late to. Then I passed the phone screening so it was time for a sit down interview. Sit down interview was in Tampa and completely out of my way. I woke up at 6 am to get to this 9:30 interview. When I originally called using their phone there wasn’t anyone around. The place looked like a dead zone. I didn’t think anyone was there. It took me a good 15-20 minutes to get to my interview which she was late too also.
These recruiters already have our resumes before they call us in for an interview. If something is a big deal to them like a short time at a previous job then they shouldn’t bother us in the first place. She took issue that I only worked at my last position for four months. And when I told her that I loved the job but that my transfer didn’t work out like I hoped due to the logistics of it she told me I should give them a call. It was at that point I knew I wasn’t getting the job.
She then proceeded to knock down my experience and wasn’t impressed with what I’ve done in the past sales wise. She tried to say my candy sales weren’t a big deal and that cars are a much more expensive sale. I worked extremely hard at my last job and I completely changed the store with a new general manager. I was highly spoken of respected at that place. Sales went from nothing to something. Employee morale was higher. Convenience store life is hard and most get burnt out.
I really hate when interviewers ask snooty questions like “if you only planned on being there a short while why did you take the position?”
Are you kidding me? Because people have to work for a living. Things happen. I had to move to the other side of the country.
“You should give them a call they’re always hiring!”
I was so flabbergasted at how rude that was. If she felt that way then why even bring me down so far out of my way in the first place?
The answer is simple so she can say she interviewed x amount of people as of HR policy. Forget my time and whatnot.
I know that I may sound salty just because I didn’t get the job but I also interviewed with hertz and they were heaps and bounds more professional than this company was to me. And I also didn’t get the job. But they treated me with dignity and respect.
