Head of People & Culture Interview

      Dec 2, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Envolta (Canada)

      Interview

The interview process is terrible. After I submitted an application, I was contacted to submit a video responding to about 10 questions and then complete a test. First, asking candidates to answer a bunch of questions via video is a lazy approach and not innovative at all. You should take the time to screen candidates via video chat. Secondly, the test was extremely long and took me about 2 hours to complete. The questions were ridiculously long and had little to do with the industry and role. They also insisted this be completed in 72 hours so that they could "move quickly" with the hiring process. Afterwards they took over a month to notify me that they would not be proceed with the next round of interviews. I appreciated that they posted a salary however $60k/year is way too low to be asking candidates to take this much time out of their lives for a pre-interview screening. The pre-interview process left a bad taste in my mouth and I was not interested in this role or company after this experience. I interviewed with 5 other companies with way more streamlined hiring processes and high salary bands. I highly recommend revising your hiring process
