      Senior Recruiter Interview

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at EvenUp

      Interview

Red flag after red flag. I was rushed through the interview process within 2 weeks and was verbally offered a Senior Recruiter level position by their new Chief People Officer. I really enjoyed all of the interviews, except the last one with the Chief People Officer. In short, she was scatterbrained and spoke down on recruiting. It was almost like she was trying to convince me not to pursue the job? Honestly the weirdest interview experience. At the end of the interview she told me she’d like to offer me the job, Senior level, at X amount of money. I sent a kind follow up email and we left off with them saying they’d be debriefing/would be in touch. Then I heard nothing… for a month and a half. I sent 3 follow ups over the course of that time… silence. Until I heard that they fired my recruiter (honestly my favorite conversation, he was GREAT) and then the CPO responded to my email. We had a call, she was incredibly scatterbrained again, offered me a level LOWER for 10k LESS, told me she could offer people a lower amount in this market (HUGE RED FLAG), and that her team was working on weekends which she seemed 100% okay with. I’ve also spoken with a few current team members and they say they aren’t surprised by any of this. I know she will know who wrote this, but I want people to be informed. This is such a short sighted hiring strategy and she is NOT a leader that supports fair pay especially supporting other women in tech getting fair pay. Lastly, she told me I had to interview with another person to get this now unappealing job even though they ghosted me. As a Recruiter myself, I would NEVER treat candidates like this. If you aren’t desperate for a job…. RUN. If you are desperate for a job, this will be a toxic pit stop.
