The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Evolving Web (Toronto, ON)
Interview
The people behind the job postings never seem to respond. I applied for 3 different positions at Evolving Web on 3 separate occasions. With all 3 of my applications, I received the message "we regret to inform you that it has not been selected" despite the fact that I have the qualifications, skills and experience to fulfill any one of those positions. I sent them a couple of emails and even filled out the contact form on their website just to follow up on my applications but I have not heard back from them.
I get job alerts sent to me on a daily basis from different sources and it’s funny how the same job postings from Evolving Web keeps showing up even after 6 months. I have seen their job postings (nearly 2 dozen jobs) advertised across multiple job sites including Job Bank, Indeed, Monster, LinkedIn, and even on Glassdoor. And they re-post them either daily or weekly to keep the "date posted" fresh.
I have seen Evolving Web re-post their job postings on LinkedIn on a weekly basis just so that they can reset the applicant count and to fool new applicants into thinking that it is a fresh job posting. It is highly suspicious that by now, they have received hundreds if not, thousands of resumes and they still have not yet filled the Drupal/PHP Developer position. These are most likely ghost job postings.
Beware of ghost job postings from this company. It is pretty obvious that the hiring staff at Evolving Web have NO intentions of filling these positions with qualified candidates. They would rather continue posting ghost jobs so they can:
- stockpile resumes
- garner social media followers
- drive traffic to their website
- gain popularity in their industry
- make them look like they are a growing company (when in reality, maybe they are not)
- collect personal information from hundreds of candidates and sell this data to third-parties
For these reasons, I don’t trust this company and I don’t recommend applying at Evolving Web. You would have a better chance of finding a job by applying elsewhere.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Evolving Web in Oct 2022
Interview
Zoom meetup with 2 people. They asked to have your IDE ready because there would be a coding test. Started asking general questions and the last part was a fizz buzz print test. You could use google to search for anything, but you had to share your screen.
