Just got contacted to start first-round interview. relatively quick process and straight forward communications. i was scheduled a first-round short after recruiter submitted profile. still waiting for next steps. this is Q2 recruiting.

They wanted to hire SSE for maintaining their 10+ Yr old web form application. But the JD they mentioned skill set as .NETweb development + cloud + blah blah.. Only have one person working, wanted another one. The interview lasted for 30min on just general discussion on "about company, portfolio, roles and about me", then asked me for a take home task where I have to create an app in winform(though from CV then can clearly see that I am a Web developer with Azure cloud Exp) which should display stock charts, also asked me to get the data by Google and design as per my understanding in 2 days.. 😂 😂.. So I am suppose to research, gather requirements, design UI, then write backend, design database and spend my 2 week days. Oh nice.. No thank you.. And ya on top of that send them the source code in full.. For what? To use that in next project, as inspirational code? Oh god. 🙏 Just 2 cents from a 11yr Exp guy in this field who took 50+ interviews: never ever ask any candidate for take home task, best you can spend 30-45 mins more time and discuss about architecture or code or may be give an algorithm Q to code which show candidates thinking ability. Take home task to prove what?? I can just copy paste from Google, I can ask my N number of friends to help me code.
