      Interviewee Interview

      Nov 11, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fear Free (Denver, CO)

      Interview

In the beginning it seemed like this would have been a great place to work. I love animals and have plenty of experience working with vet clinics. The first recruiter was very friendly, but then you were subjected to several rounds of lengthy video interviews where essay-style questions were asked. I had no less than 3 video interviews scheduled in addition to the initial phone call. I was eventually rejected because I "missed" my third interview. What actually happed was I opened the link to my 3rd and final interview, and sat by myself in an empty chat room for several minutes before calling the office and receiving no reply. It turns out I had the link to the wrong meeting, I later explained this but they were incredibly unforgiving and did not offer a follow up interview because so many "better candidates" were available, in their words. My previous two video interviewers also kept driving some point about needing the new hire to be a perfect "culture fit", in a way that came off rather elitist and seemed to imply that they did not want to hire anyone different from the people they already had working for them. Overall not a great impression, this is the last time I'll sacrifice so much of my unpaid personal time to a business with this degree of ridiculous interview requirements. If you have the resources to make 3 different groups of people interview somebody, then you should be able to offer paid training to a qualified candidate rather than forcing them to play your multi-tiered elimination game (for a salary that is not all that impressive to begin with).
