The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Ferguson (Cleveland, OH) in Apr 2011
Interview
Process took a really long time. Had to remain persistent to hear back from them. Cleveland branch seems to be growing and doing well. The people really care about what they are doing and want to help the customer. Ferguson seems like a great place to start a career. They want to make sure that you are ok with starting out in the warehouse and then open to relocation when opportunities open up.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ferguson (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
The process is relatively quick. I applied at the end of April and within 5 days was asked to complete a video montage. About a week later I recieved a call from Ferguson's HR recruiter in Virginia. They said they liked my resume and video interview, but did not have anything in my region (South East). The lady was very nice and asked if I would consider relocation. When I said yes, she said she would send a list of available cities. After I sent her a list of my top 5, she put me in touch with the area manager, who in my case was over Phoenix, AZ. He called me within the week and asked if I had time to do the interview then. We talked for about 30-45 minutes and he asked if I'd been offered a position. I said no and he said that he would reach out to HR and see if they were okay with offering me the job. No more than 3 days later I was offered a position contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen, which had to be completed within 48 hours of acceptance. Drug test and background check took exactly a week from when i took it and sent in my social security number, after which i recieved my official notice of employment and start date.
Overall, fantastic experience with very helpful staff that took less than a month. I think they are looking for people who have had some experience with the trades ( I was a plumber while in college). I highly recommend this company.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Ferguson (Pomona, CA) in Dec 2016
Interview
First you have to do a video response to a few questions, followed by another video submission on another few questions. After that is a phone interview with the HR Rep from Virginia. From there depending on geographical preference and availability in your preference there will be a follow up interview, in my case it was a phone interview. In my case from which I've heard is quite rare I waited 3 months for the Fourth interview, due to the lack of position in my area.
