The process started with a short (15-30 minutes) phone interview where I received a few more details about the position and the company.
From there, we scheduled an in-person interview for the following week. When I arrived, I had to fill out a paper application form, which was a little difficult as I didn't have a lot of the required information on me. I would recommend that the company send this form to the candidates ahead of time so that they can just bring it in pre-filled (or make the form digital) and not take up valuable interview time.
The interview questions were solid; however, I didn't feel that the hiring manager prepared for the interview. He didn't seem to understand my work history or my education (which I have a lot of). It felt like he was looking at my resume' for the first time. As someone who does a lot of interviewing and hiring, I do as much research on the candidate as I can and adapt the conversation to each person. We talked for about an hour.
I was invited back in a few days later to take an extensive personality/IQ assessment. I've taken a number of these tests over the years - this one was challenging, interesting, and relevant. I then talked with the hiring manager for a few minutes and he had me fill out an authorization form for a background check. He explained what the estimated timeline was and what next steps would be.
I never heard from them again... no rejection email or follow-up of any kind. I called a week or two later to check in, left a message, and never received a call back. I would have appreciated some kind of communication since I had invested so much time into the process.
