      A recruiter reached out to me about this role, she was extremely nice and helpful–honestly the best I've worked with. Had an initial screening with her, and then was moved onto an interview with the Hiring Manager for the second round. The hiring manager I could tell was not about me from the beginning based on their demeanor, but in this job market, any interview is practice so I went along with it. Based on what I was told about this position, it ultimately needs to be built from the ground up, and they mentioned the need for someone 'scrappy' several times–which is usually code for 'this role is multiple roles getting paid for one'. I was okay with this though because I have several years experience working in that kind of role. At the end of the interview she said the regular, "We are going to see how the rest of the first round interviews go, and then you'll hear back on our decision and if there's next steps likely within a week." Well, I got a call from the recruiter not five minutes later that I wasn't proceeding with the next round because they felt my experience was too junior. If that's how they felt, then that's how they felt–I wouldn't be angry about honesty. Why not just be honest and say that to me at the end of the interview, though? Honestly, made me feel better about not moving onto the next round because I prefer working with managers that are transparent and give feedback up front. The company sounded cool though, but that was just my experience!
