Fluxx is a company that's full of energy and excitement, and the interview process reflected that. The process was fun, freeing and fascinating. Each step was thoughtful and engaging, which is telling for what Fluxx is like as a company to work at.
I applied through Creative Access, the initial application included these three questions:
- At Fluxx, we value empathy, collaboration, entrepreneurship, curiosity, and proactiveness. Tell us about yourself, and how you have demonstrated one or more of these qualities.
- If you could redesign anything in the world, what would it be and why?
- What makes you want to work at Fluxx?
The first interview was with two members of the team through video chat. It felt very casual, relaxing and encouraging. It was mainly an initial chat to get to know you so included many of the typical interview questions included below.
The second round was a virtual assessment centre with three other candidates, and two people from Fluxx. We were set an exciting brief to give a 5-minute presentation about 'The future of...' and then we had an hour to work together on a project while the interviewers turned off their cameras and observed. It was planned well, and felt quite easy-going.
After that, we were awaiting 'the email'/call... I was grateful to have been offered a role. However, as I had interviewed for other places, and received another offer at a place that felt right for the point in my career, I decided to decline this offer. This is no reflection on my experience of Fluxx as it remains in the top list of companies I'd love to work for. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a role as a consultant, particularly at a company that's fun, lean and full of vigour!
