      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Jan 25, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Foodee (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2022

      Interview

      - I recently made it to the final rounds for a Customer Service Representative role at Foodee. Here are the takeaways from my experience: - Foodee's interview process was overly extensive, requiring 4 rounds of interviews. There is also a case study presentation that took me a full day to complete. - I'm extremely disappointed in the way Foodee handles reference checks. They will contact your references before making an offer, which is extremely unprofessional. This practice shows a lack of consideration for the candidate's time and effort as well as a lack of respect for the references. It's a red flag in the hiring process and makes me highly skeptical about Foodee's values and professionalism. - Foodee's salary range for the Customer Service Representative is only 40-45k, while other Canadian companies are paying 60k for similar roles. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with the time and effort invested in the process. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback. We try to run a quick interview process (2-3 weeks from start to finish) but with the volume of open roles and holiday break it sounds like it was longer than that. While the case study is an important part of our interviews, we try to keep it lightweight so that preparation requires no more than 1-2 hours. Your comment is a good reminder that we should underscore that when candidates are invited to that final stage. Thank you in particular for your feedback on the sequencing of reference checks. It appears we did not follow our normal sequencing due to the volume of candidates at later stages of the interview process. I apologize for the frustration and extra effort for you and your reference. Our salary ranges for these roles are posted to ensure no mismatch in expectations. This is a change we implemented in 2022 and I believe for the most part has been successful. We pride ourselves in having an excellent recruiting process, so I’m sorry you did not have a good candidate experience. Barb Anderson

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Foodee in Jul 2022

      Interview

My interview process started with a phone interview, followed by a more in depth video chat interview. After that I was given the opportunity for a case study. The case study was daunting at first, but the questions were relevant to my experience and I found them easy to answer. After the case study I met with the CEO. At this point I was trembling with nerves, but as soon as our conversation started I immediately felt at ease. It was very relaxed and friendly. Immediately after my CEO interview I was offered the position. To sum it up, from my initial application to my offer letter was 13 days. the process may seem longer than others, but it not only gives the team a chance to get to know you, but a chance for YOU to know the team.

      Interview

A phone screen was first, followed up by 2 interviews with multiple people and a case study. The case study had a few real life scenarios. All four of the employees ask questions I could tell at the time that one liked me less than the others did.
