      Human Resources Assistant Interview

      Jan 19, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fox Management

      Interview

I applied online and then was sent an email to give me availability for an interview. After my times did not work, I was contacted by the recruiter for additional times to come in and interview. From spending many years in the recruiting world before transitioning to HR, I felt it was a little strange that they wouldn't even offer a phone screen to learn more about my experience and have me learn more about the job before having me come all the way in. After digging around and reading a previous interview review, I took it upon myself to offer up a phone call to learn more as the first step. The phone call was aweful but I'm glad I did that first before going in to interview (it would have been a waste of my time). Not only was it 10 min late...the person on the other end was NOT enthusiastic or seemed interested at all to talk. She didn't intro herself (like saying her name, what she does at the company, etc) or sound happy at all. It was "Oh hi. So you wanted to talk on the phone to learn more. Did you read the job description?" almost in the tone that I didn't and I'm wasting her time. This is the standard interview process. You phone screen to learn more about each other to see if it's a mutual fit. She didn't ask me one thing about myself (even how my day was) and couldn't really answer any questions - and the ones that she answered it almost sounded like it was annoying to her. She couldn't really explain or elaborate on anything which even if I was interested in the job would be a red flag. I learned it was at a Gentlemans club and not at Fox Management. I have a background of PROFESSIONAL experience in corporations - had I known it was at a strip club I would have never applied. It's also in the suburbs and the hours are Noon - 9pm (I live in the city). My advice is to request a phone call before going in to interview. If this position is what you are looking for- great! It wasn't going to be a fit for me but I would request a phone screen to learn more about the job, client and what you really need to be doing. Also, to FM, I would spend some time building up your Talent Acquisitions team to be prepared to talk about the role, and SELL the role. That's how you get candidates interested. The role may be something completely different from what my first impression was, but I was given nothing to work from based on the phone conversation. You are trying to sell a role for a client of yours...regardless how senior or not the role is, you should be ready to sell it and make the other person excited to learn more.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fox Management (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

The interview consisted of a computer portion which was essentially your resume. Following was a short in person interview. The person interviewing was not very friendly and made little effort to talk and actually interview me. As well as a lot of pertinent details about the job were left out of the posting and if I had known those details, I would not have followed through with the interview process. The whole experience reflects very poorly on the company.

      Interview

It was awful very unprofessional I feel the location should be made aware during the phone interview . I have worked in hr and I know the screening questions and I was not asked relative questions.
