The first stage was a recorded "AI interview". No live person, just questions answered to a webcam. The invitation framed this as a low-pressure first step and explicitly promised that later in the process I would meet the team and my future manager. That second part never happened. The AI session asked only generic "have you ever done X, Y, Z?" competency questions and said nothing about the actual role, responsibilities, team, scope, or expectations. I came away with zero information about the job I'd applied for, while the format recorded my face and answers on video. Complete asymmetry: they can see and assess you, but you don't get to see or speak to a single person on their side. A few days later I received a one-line rejection ("after a thorough review, we will not be moving forward at this stage"). I never met anyone from the company. The rejection also stated they would retain my personal data, presented as a done deal with no stated retention period and no option to decline. Candidates should know you have the right under GDPR to request erasure, but nothing in their communication mentioned that. Advice to candidates: expect to be screened by software before any human contact, and don't count on the "you'll meet the team" reassurance in the invitation.
