I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Friend MTS in Mar 2025
Interview
The interview was a two-step process, with an initial screening call with the internal recruiter and then an interview with the Head of Product. Overall a quick and efficient process with a friendly team.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Friend MTS
Interview
I applied direct through the website. I had an initial screening call with HR, which was informal, friendly and really positive. It was mentioned that the hiring manager felt that I might be a bit too senior for the role, However, after speaking to them, I felt that the experience that the JD was asking for was a great fit and that they could benefit from my experience to bring credibility to the role. After I secured an interview with the hiring manager, I felt that issue had been addressed and thought no more of it. The video interview was really positive and I was invited to a face to face interview. Again this experience was really positive and I came away feeling optimistic. At no point during this process was the subject of seniority or level of experience mentioned again. After 10 days, which was far too long, I was told after going through the entire process, they felt that I was too senior and that the role had been offered to someone more aligned to the level of experience they were looking for. I was devastated, and felt like I'd been played. If they felt I was too senior, address it during the interview process. Why consider me and invite me to the final round of interviews if that's the case? A judgement has been made about my skills and experience and I've not been allowed to present my argument. I feel that this is really poor and in this market, it's a terrible way to treat someone. Maybe I've dodged a bullet here, which is a shame because I was really excited about the role, what I could bring to it, and it felt like a great fit.

Interview
Interview process was vague to begin with and just got worse as it went. They reached out to me and gave no salary bracket when I asked. When I asked again, I was given a bracket of 50k to 90k which was a first red flag as that is a huge bracket (not to mention 50K is ridiculous for this level of role).
I then had a first interview - feedback from that interview was that I had 'blown them away with my answers'.
From that followed a couple of weeks of no news, when I reached out for an update, I got a call telling me they were reviewing the role and were not sure on timing, but to contact them again in about 2 weeks for an update on both sides. I did, and the result was ghosting.
The process was extremely unprofessional - either they had no idea what direction they wanted to go in with the role, in which case: figure that out first and then advertise the role. Or they simply had no idea how to manage expectations or clear communication.
Either way it's a shame because it doesn't give a very positive outlook on the company - it shows dodgy systems and unreliable communication.
