I was proactively sourced for a senior backend role. The technical loop consisted of standard coding, system design, and a final technical deep dive. The engineering interviews were straightforward and went flawlessly on my end.
The issue lies entirely with recruiting transparency. At the very start of the process, I was clear about my compensation expectations to align with my background in top-tier tech and finance. The recruiter assured me that because Fuse has a flat structure with no salary bandings, matching competitive market rates was not an issue.
After perfectly clearing every single stage, I received a generic boilerplate rejection. Looking at public payroll data and verified tracking sites, it is clear that Fuse’s actual engineering caps are significantly lower than what recruiters claim to candidates. The sourcing team intentionally misleads high-calibre candidates about budget limits just to get them into the funnel, wasting everyone's time. Because of this lack of professionalism, I will not be considering any future roles with Fuse Energy.
