I applied for one role but when I had a call with HR I was told they were interested in me for another very different role. This wasn’t addressed in advance. The bait and switch bait grew in scope after the call. The role was pitched on the call as Director level but the description I was sent was not for a director level role. Things did not improve from here. HR messaged me the day of my interview thinking I had cancelled my interview because she confused me with someone else, We communicated and I clarified that I had not cancelled; only for neither hiring manager showed up and no one contacted me to cancel. I really should have withdrew from the process here given how the company has behaved to this point; but I had invested time preparing for the interview at this point so I proceeded. I rescheduled.The interview itself was straightforward both of the VPs were easy to talk to. We planned for me to visit their site and I emailed a thank you after, they replied promptly. When I emailed to schedule my visit they simply ghosted me. It was really quite disappointing and frustrating to have so much of my time wasted. There was a marked lack of transparency, integrity, and organization. This was truly the worst interview process I’ve ever been a part of.
