Interview
Just over a week after emailing in my application, I received a call and voicemail asking me to call back if I was still interested in the position. I returned the call and had a quick phone interview on the call - this was definitely a different process than I’m used to, which normally starts with an email to schedule phone screening > 15-30 min screening with an opportunity to ask questions > official interviews/skill tests.
On the call, I was only asked why I was interested in the position, as well as whether I lived in NYC (the position was advertised as remote possible, with a preference for those in the city). After those 2 questions, the interviewer said I’d be hearing back from someone soon, but I wasn’t given any exact timeline or opportunity to ask any questions about the position. 3 weeks later with no response, I can assume I’ve been ghosted. It’s a shame that these organizations can’t take the time to update candidates on their decision.
It’s also worth nothing that as of now via the job description, it doesn’t seem that GlamourGals offers healthcare or a retirement plan for their employees - definitely something to ask if you get farther in the process.

Interview
This process was awkward, and began with an on-the-spot phone interview by someone who, while super sweet, called me without warning in the middle of my workday. Next was a video interview that felt rushed and uncomfortable, like the hiring manager (who clearly lacks management experience) was just making sure they asked all the questions on their list rather than actually being interested in having a real conversation. Then came a content assignment, resources for which included a brand guideline PDF with typos and several broken links. On the same day they launched a piece of content utilizing suggestions I offered in the assignment, I received an email saying that I wasn't being offered the job. Proceed with caution, folks.
