I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries (Malta, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
Phone Interview with hiring manager (basic- explain experience, nothing technical).
Brought in for interviews (three 30min interviews; 1x1 with HR, other two interviews were 2x1)
Job offer within two weeks.
Medical exam and initial drug test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If interviewing for a technician/hourly position you will probably be in a group exercise with 5-7 other candidates. Teamwork project for ~90min to see how you work and communicate with others, contribute/participate to complete the task, etc.
Expect at least three interviews (HR, Hiring Manager, Manager from another department), more if multiple departments are considering you. ~30min/interview, questions very. It would be good to do your homework and know the company background basics, values/mission statement, and how a transistor works along with very basic microchip manufacturing processes (wikipedia read).
Basic questioning. Limited "behavioral questioning" so don't be nervous and be your best self.
I applied online. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries in Oct 2025
Interview
There was an initial screening with an HR representative that asked general questions like why you're interested in the company. If you pass the initial screening, you then have an interview with the actual manager of the role who asks more technical questions and dives into your resume.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries (Kuala Lumpur) in Nov 2021
Interview
Really good. The interviewer was friendly. Everything went smoothly. The questions asked was general and nothing too specific or technical. He also told his experience working there and the challenges he faced initially. Overall sounds like a good company
