My experience with HGS OSS was one of the most disappointing and unprofessional hiring processes I have ever encountered.
The interviews with recruitment, the client, and the HR manager all went extremely well. On Friday (11/21), I was explicitly told that I “nailed it” and that the training would start on Thursday (11/25) due to urgency. The recruiter repeatedly stressed the urgency and instructed me to do whatever was necessary to be ready. I was immediately asked to complete my pre-employment medical and was sent an endorsement right away.
On Sunday (11/23), I completed the medical exam. Later that night, I received an invitation from the client for a quick introduction call scheduled at 3:00 AM the next day (11/24). That same evening, the recruiter called to confirm my availability. I clearly stated that I could join the call, but that the Job Offer needed to be provided first. I was assured that the Job Offer would be issued and signed on-site on the first day of training.
Based on these strong assurances and the urgency communicated by recruitment—and because the offer was significantly better than my current role—I made the serious and life-impacting decision to tender my immediate resignation from my previous employer.
Just hours before the supposed first day of training, I received a call informing me that the training was suddenly on hold due to the Thanksgiving holiday. When I asked for the Job Offer, since I had already resigned, I was then told that my application was also put on hold. I was completely shocked and left with no clear explanation.
After nearly two weeks of repeated follow-ups, the recruiter finally informed me via text that the hiring had been canceled due to “internal issues.”
This experience was extremely damaging. HGS OSS pushed urgency, required medical completion, coordinated client introductions, and gave repeated verbal assurances—yet failed to provide a formal Job Offer or any accountability. As a result, I was left unemployed just before the holiday season, after resigning from my previous company for nothing.
While the interview stages initially appeared professional, the overall hiring process showed a serious lack of integrity, transparency, and respect for candidates’ livelihoods. I strongly caution future applicants to secure a signed Job Offer before making any employment decisions.
