you Interview with the supervisor of the department and they notify HR if they like you or not. They would like for you to either have experience in the mental health field or hold a human services degree or license. After getting hired you go take your drug test and they run a background check. The training last two week and your hours will be between 8:30-5:30 during those days. If they are in need of immediate help your training will be broken up. You will complete the training to get you on the floor the first week, and then do the rest a few weeks to a month later. As a youth counselor you shadow for 3 days then you are on the floor.
