      Regulatory Affairs Interview

      Apr 1, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Diego, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Halozyme, Inc. (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2019

      Interview

The on-site experiences were not bad, I was warmly welcomed by the lobbyist and received a gift bag. The after on-site process was like a nightmare. If to choose words to describe my feelings, they are “Unprofessional” and “Ridiculous”. I believe the quality of the HR person tells a lot about the company. The HR lady I talked to at the beginning probably left the company soonly after my phone interview (the turnaround rate at this place seems very high), her replacement is a seasoned guy but not feel like a HR trained person. Honestly every time talk to him, I feel like speaking to a car sale man. He is unprofessional and demanding. About the process: 1. On-site Day: I was told that I received very positive feedback from the interviewers and should expect a decision within a day or two. 2. A week later: did not receive any feedback so followed-up with the hiring manager by email. 3. A week later: The HM replied to my email on Sunday and asked to contact HR guy to arrange my references. Contacted the HR guy on Monday and I was told not to approach my references yet. And asked about my opinion whether I am OK to report to another person. 4. 4 weeks later: HR guy Informed me that the position I interviewed for has been given to another candidate, but it's not over; I am asked to wait patiently. 5. 4 weeks later: HR guy contacted me and asked for my references. I requested my references within two days. 6. 3 weeks later: HR guy informed me that my offer is approved; I asked a question about the relocation assistance 7. 2.5 weeks later: Got back to me with the answer to my relo question; I made a counter offer 8. More than a week later: Responded to my counter offer I declined the offer. I lost interests to this ridiculous process. The company is probably good and their technology seems promising and benefits patient, but the place is filled with hypocrites. Qualifications are not important to this place.
