Interview
First, you receive a coding challenge that is relatively easy. Then you have to create a program with an interviewer. They send you some documents to help you prepare beforehand.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Handshake in Feb 2021
Interview
The remote interview process at Handshake consisted of three interviews with three Handshake employees. Additionally, I coordinated with other employees over email regarding interview times and content. Everyone I talked to on Zoom was very nice and made me feel comfortable and people coordinating with me over email were helpful and responsive. The interviews felt more like a chat and less like an interrogation which is highly appreciated.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Handshake in Nov 2019
Interview
There is a project/Hackerrank as part of the application, a phone interview, and then a more technical interview with Handshake employees.
The final interview process is long and took me around half a day to complete. Before the interview process begins, interviewees are asked to set up a project which is later specified during the interview. There are breaks between each stage.
1. Quick 15-20 minute interview with an engineering manager at Handshake
2. Around an hour of solo coding on the project.
3. Pair programming with Software Engineers at Handshake
