The interview process at Hanson Wade was fantastic. The initial phone interview involved a few brief questions asking about my understanding of the role, the company and what interested me in applying for the job. This was a relatively short but engaging conversation and I was invited in for a face-to-face interview the following day.
This interview was conducted by the hiring manager and in-house recruiter and, whilst it could have been a nerve-wracking experience, I was made to feel at ease straight away. I was asked fairly general questions about what I had been up to the past year, why I had applied for the job, what previous relevant experience I had that would be beneficial in this role, what interested me in working for Hanson Wade as a company etc.; and was given plenty of time to expand on all these points. I then had a chance to have a walk round the office and everyone I passed was so friendly and there was a buzz to the atmosphere in the break out area near the kitchen.
The final interview stage involved a "Wader dip" where I was given the chance to interview 3 individuals in different departments. I had never heard of this happening elsewhere, and it was a brilliant chance for me to speak to employees and ask them their opinions about the company culture and everything they love and hate about Hanson Wade - there was only love!
After an hour break, I was asked to give a presentation to the hiring manager and recruiter which I had been briefed on previously. I was asked what I had found out about the role and Hanson Wade, why I would like to join, and how I would contribute. Due to the nature of my role, I was also asked for any suggestions on office improvements.
All in all, the interview process was unique, transparent, and efficient. I got a great impression of Hanson Wade and everyone working there.
