I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hawthorn Creative (Portsmouth, NH) in Feb 2018
Interview
Made it past the first and second interview, had to do a design assignment, which actually was a lot of fun. The staff was friendly, the space was neat, I didn't get to see too much, though.
I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hawthorn Creative (Portsmouth, NH)
Interview
I interviewed with the Creative/Design Director. The questions were very easy, most likely rehearsed/scripted. A lot about personality, mixed in with the typical “have to ask” questions that HR people usually ask. Ultimately, they were not willing to bend for someone who doesn’t live right in Portsmouth (said I would consider moving, but they probably saw that as dollar signs $$). They very much wanted someone to fit the mould of whomever left, in terms of work and pay, no questions asked.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hawthorn Creative (Portsmouth, NH) in Dec 2014
Interview
Before the interview I was asked to complete a design challenge which was really annoying because I had already sent them my portfolio. They were impressed with my design and later I was asked in for an interview. I interviewed with the creative director and showed her my portfolio and discussed my personality. I decided that the company wasn't for me because they mainly do print work in a style that focuses on quantity rather than quality – they said they aim to do about 3-5 ad designs a day. It is also a company made up of almost completely female designers which in my opinion lacks diversity.
