      I applied via LinkedIN and connected fairly quickly with a recruiter who asked your standard questions outlining the interview process. Next, I spoke to the CEO and founder which was one of the most awkward interviews I've experienced in some time; I have to also wonder why the CEO has time to do employee screening so early in the process when, in my case, digital marketing isn’t their forte. At one point they probed information regarding Google's 'promo' tab, how I 'felt' about it, and how a company could quickly redirect comms (red flag 1). They didn’t like my generic answer and I got the impression they wanted a solution for their problem then and there. I asked if this role was newly minted or a back-fill and they said they'd fired the last person because they didn't deliver. I checked out this former employee’s profile online and they were there for less than 6 months which honestly left me with more questions (red flag 2). Post-interview I did some research and found this company uses spy trackers to measure their remote worker's presence in front of the computer (red flag 3). My colleagues were gobsmacked regarding the last one, but I suppose we're not used to that level of micromanagement.

The previous person in the role had trouble getting along with their co-workers. We pride ourselves on fostering a collegial, collaborative and supportive environment. 3. Our co-founders are very hands-on and take hiring very seriously, so speaking with the co-founders early in the process actually helps us let our applicants know that they are accessible and will be part of your everyday work. That is something we consider to be of value. Inbox placement is an extremely challenging part of email marketing, so understanding your approach would be very valuable.
