We talked for several weeks and really hit it off. Things advanced. Then...they suddenly stopped responding.
No, I'm not talking about a bad date.
I'm talking about my interview process with Hinge--the first company that's ever completely ghosted me after getting to F2F interview stage!
Besides the irony of getting ghosted by a dating app (is this the pinnacle of rejection?), the interview experience was mediocre at best.
First there was an initial phone screen, then a video interview with the HM. Even from the beginning, they were unclear on what the entire interview timeline would look like.
In the phone screen, the recruiter seemed bored and uninterested in my answers and did not give me time to ask any questions. I was surprised they moved me to the next round. The conversation with the HM was extremely positive, and I was assured I would hear next steps early the next week. After sending a thank you note and not hearing back, I followed up several times afterwards but never received a response. After seeing the job reposted a few times, it was clear they didn't know what they wanted in the role and were fairly disorganized in their process.
For the future, I recommend they communicate better to candidates at more advanced stages of the interview process.
