      Product Manager Interview

      Aug 4, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at HuFriedyGroup (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Went through a series of interviews - 10 total interviews. The process took about 8 weeks. After the last interview, they basically ghosted me for a few weeks- no emails or calls returned. Eventually, I received a standard email telling me the position had been filled. I received zero feedback on my candidacy. The day after I received my email the job was again posted on linkedin. I was not upset about not getting an offer. Just after 10 interviews, I expected more than a stock e-mail

      Product Manager Interview

      Oct 12, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Des Plaines, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HuFriedyGroup (Des Plaines, IL) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Spoke with 11 people altogether. 4 of them were in HR. Kept getting emails that "so and so" in HR would now be handling the application process. I was very up front with HR in the initial phone screen about not being willing to commute to the office more than 2 days/week, preferably one, because of the distance. She said she'd have to ask the hire manager if that was ok. It was and I was scheduled for an interview with said hiring manager shortly after. After meeting with the hiring manager, I was scheduled to meet with 5 other people in one day via Zoom. I asked one person how we would be working together, to which they said, "We won't be." Mmmkay. About a week later, I was scheduled for my 7th interview with another VP, during which I was told that the original hiring manager was no longer with the company. This VP may or may not be the supervisor for this role in the long term.... lots of "restructuring going on". Mmmkay. I was also told that they were implementing a company policy where everyone had to return to the office at least 3 days a week, no exceptions. Mmmkay. Employees aren't trusted. Got it. In total, 5-6 hours of my time was wasted. Never heard back from anyone. Not even a canned rejection email, even after a couple of follow ups on my end asking if I was still being considered. Clearly I've dodged a bullet here. Extremely unprofessional and obviously chaotic. Wouldn't be on glassdoor if they would have just been up front with me after investing so much of my time. I don't mind rejection, but I won't tolerate rudeness. And apparently I'm not the only one that had this experience (see product manager review from Aug).
