I applied online. I interviewed at IGG (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2020
Interview
Post resume-viewing interview / preliminary communication. Position is for their Vancouver team. HR person is very unprofessional, who didn't seem to know what roles their team really needs. After general questions, HR kept asking around about skills I possess that aren't related to the position toward which I expressed explicit interest. Finally I realized HR was trying to pitch me about other roles. This obviously means HR doesn't know the seriousness of assigning professional people for different roles in order to make a project going effectively and smoothly. I understand this HR wanted to make this deal happen as soon as possible, but this person could have just asked whether I want to apply for other roles first. I'm not sure this happens for this HR only or for the entire HR team, but I definitely would like to communicate with someone more professional and knows more about the game industry next time. Because I love the hell out of this industry and hope anyone I work with would at least show some respect for my professionalism and dedication.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at IGG (Vancouver, BC) in Apr 2021
Interview
The HR contacted me remotely after saw my portfolio online. After a few questions they send me an art test. Not providing enough concepts and descriptions, their answer was ambiguous for the design.
